History

On August 4, 2008, Joop & Astrid bought this house. It was their dream to live and work in beautiful Italy. A lot of time was put into renovating the house, which would serve as a Bed & Breakfast. When the house was ready, Astrid would run the Bed & Breakfast. Unfortunately, two weeks after buying the house, Joop died while climbing in the Monta Rosagebergte with his British climbing friend.

In the spring of 2009, Astrid decided to continue pursuing their dream. On May 12, 2010, Joop & Astrid’s dream came true and Casa Joop opened its doors.

During the renovation of the house, attempts were made to preserve as many original elements as possible, thereby giving the rooms an authentic Italian atmosphere.

In 2022, Astrid wanted to go back to the Netherlands to be closer to her children and grandchildren and in June 2023, we, Leo and Ellis, took over the B&B and continued Astrid’s life’s work.
